Negril Jamaica
Negril is a popular beachfront tourist destination situated in Hanover and Westmoreland. The capital of the region is Savanna-la-Mar. Located within Westmoreland is the city center, a part of the seven mile island beach, and other resorts. The upper portion of the beach resorts are found in Hanover.
Negril is at the center of Jamaica’s beach recreation. Beaches stretching for miles, coral reefs, and pristine water ideal for swimming, make the beaches of Negril among the best in the world.
Negril’s economy is heavily dependent upon tourism; however, even though other sectors of their economy is growing, the locals of Negril are very friendly and still eager to socialize with tourists.
Years ago, Negril was a laidback beach town where those with little money could spend time enjoying the beauty of the Caribbean and hanging out with their friends. It was particularly popular among the hippie generation.
Although this time has passed, Negril is still a place where people can relax and enjoy the wonder of the Caribbean. Now, Negril can be categorized into two districts. The Long Bay area is where most of the tourist hotels and resorts are located. However, for those still lingering for the past, the West End is still influenced by the counterculture.
Although the island has changed throughout the years, it is still the best location for the free spirit to travel. Whether one is seeking luxury or uninhibited freedom, Jamaica is a great place to vacation.
