Dominica Attractions and Activities
Morne Trois Pitons National Park
Some of Dominica’s most beautiful natural wonders are located in this national park, including the geothermal wonder Boiling Lake and five volcanoes. Park visitors will also find hiking trails, freshwater lakes, hot springs, and a diverse eco-system with numerous plants and animal species.
Emerald Pool
This beautiful grotto can be reached after a small hike through a rainforest in central Dominica. This is a great place to swim, but the water can be cold. Because of the natural beauty of the Emerald Pool and its surrounding area, many people hold their wedding ceremonies here.
Trafalgar Falls
These two large and majestic waterfalls are located in a beautiful rain forest. At the bottom of the falls is a pool popular for swimming. Trafalgar Falls can be reached after a short hike. It is not uncommon to see land crabs walking around the area.
Roseau
This historic city is full of modern and Victorian influenced architecture. Behind the city are beautiful green mountains. After Hurricane David, a large section of the city’s port and promenade was rebuilt. In the Old Market Plaza, a variety of street vendors sell food and other products. A museum is also located in the plaza.
Boiling Lake
Boiling Lake is located in Morne Trois Pitons National Park. This large lake, a geothermal phenomenon, is full of grayish-blue water that is continually bubbling. Since a road does not lead to the lake, it is about a seven mile hike to reach it.
